Andrew Tu Scholarship in Pharmacy
In memory of the late Andrew Tu
A beloved husband, brother, son and friend, Andrew Tu excelled in community pharmacy where he was cherished by colleagues and customers alike for his fierce intelligence, warm and caring personality, and his infectious smile.
He was second to none on the squash court, renowned for his love of a double shot piccolo and adventurous spirit, but most of all Andrew was a treasured friend and colleague. His passing on the 4 April 2017 left a deep hole in the hearts of many.
In loving memory of his legacy, Andrew’s family and friends are establishing a scholarship at the University of Sydney, School of Pharmacy. Funds raised will go towards a scholarship for eligible pharmacy students to pursue further research into mental health.
The scholarship aims to encourage and support pharmacy graduates to make a positive impact within their profession, by raising awareness and reducing stigma around mental health. Importantly, this will support the next generation of pharmacists who are at the forefront of primary care for their community, to not only identify those in need of help but be able to seek help for themselves.
When the crowdfunding target of $135,000 is achieved, we will be able to establish an endowed scholarship, which will allow the Andrew Tu Scholarship to be awarded annually in perpetuity.
If the crowdfunding target is not achieved, all donations received will be used to award the Andrew Tu Scholarship annually for as long as funds raised will support it.
In honour of Andrew’s life, we invite you to be part of our cause by making a donation today to support The Andrew Tu Scholarship in Pharmacy.
Thank you for your generous and compassionate gift.
*Donations $2 and above are fully tax deductible.
