Anthony passed away one year ago from leukaemia. In his memory we would like to raise money for University of Sydney law students who are struggling financially. Anthony brightened the life of everyone who knew him. His mischievous grin, acerbic wit, astounding memory and infectious laugh made him so much fun to be around. Anthony made many lifelong friendships at the University of Sydney Law School. At the University of Sydney and beyond, he had large and eclectic circles of friends, and loved to party; but there was a serious side too.
Adopted as a small child by a loving family, he was a pragmatist, and firmly believed in the transformative role education can play in people's lives. Anthony studied Economics and Law at the University of Sydney from 1982 to 1986. He was an extremely hard-working student but supported himself through university with numerous part time jobs. He specialised as a property lawyer and ran a successful practice in the eastern suburbs, where he worked tirelessly for his clients. He was politically engaged and well-read.
Anthony sought a more equal world. He would welcome the greater range of voices, which funds made available in his memory to financially disadvantaged law students, could assist to be heard. Anthony was well-loved and is sorely missed.
In celebration of Anthony's life, we would like to offer his friends and family the opportunity to support University of Sydney law students who are struggling financially by making a donation to support law student bursaries.
Your gift will support law students who are struggling financially. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and the recent bushfires there has been a rise in the number of students desperately needing immediate financial support.
Your generous gift could help students pay for essential living and study expenses including:
textbooks, readers and journals
bond and rent payments
phone, electricity and gas bills
medical and dental bills.
All donations $2 and above are tax deductible.
Your support is greatly appreciated by Anthony's family and the University of Sydney. Thank you for your kind generosity.
