Animal Welfare Outreach Program at HopeStreet

Imagine experiencing homelessness and having a pet in need of veterinary care.  It’s a common situation for people living on the margins who love their pets but don’t have the means to visit a vet. Tim knows this feeling of helplessness firsthand, having needed urgent treatment for his beautiful dog Sheena, when she developed arthritis, and later cancer.

"I was devastated. Sheena was the the one constant blessing in my life, but I couldn't afford her care."

Fortunately for Tim, the free pop-up veterinary clinic at HopeStreet in Woolloomooloo was there to help Sheena when she got sick. Run by BaptistCare HopeStreet and the University of Sydney Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the clinic is staffed by volunteers including veterinarians, veterinary nurses and University of Sydney vet students.

The BaptistCare HopeStreet Pet Clinic relies on donations, good will and volunteer veterinary services.

An average visit to the clinic can cost upwards of $175 for a single patient, and each month, around 20 animals visit the service.

The expense means that our veterinarians are limited in what they can do to help.

With your support, the pop up clinic could treat even more beloved pets than it does now.

BaptistCare and the University of Sydney Veterinary Teaching Hospital are committed to keeping this vital service available for as long as possible. With your help they will do it. Every dollar counts.

If 10 people gave $10 we could provide medicine for a chronically-ill pet.

Please show your support by making a gift today. Large or small, every gifts matters and makes a huge difference in the lives of these animals and their owners.

If you are not in a position to give, you can still help by sharing our project with your friends and family through social media and your networks. Thank you.
